I was very impressed with the amount of skills within the room and felt that some of us needed reminding of our amazing abilities. Reflective reminder here to switch of my parent/teacher head! The tutor commented that our skills should be shared on Google drive and Whatsapp – these identified skills should be delegated due to limited time having to complete the project on our option unit.

We eliminated areas we did not think we should attempt to work on such as patient bed areas, the entrance desk, sluices and clinical areas.

The main focus will be on the sensory trolley which will include a sand tray, sensory boxes, craft boxes or baskets, rolled up sensory murals, fragrance boxes and tactile boxes.

Project Vision

The wall mural including wall shelves, freestanding box cube shelves, and Jolly Trolley complete with sand tray and other activities to be researched further.

Our last session concluded with the discussion of how we may best present our collective ideas to Helen and Dawn in the next couple of weeks. Further concepts that should be further discussed would include wall painting footprints on floors, hanging of fabrics and banners, using domestic pictures and photographs. Also we should inform them that we would not work directly with the patients, as this would be unethical or too distressing for them. However we will be considering their needs and how we can help support them through the creations made during our project.
